Bobby Ray Thompson

Bobby Ray Thompson (Coon) was the 2nd Children born to Wanda Jo Jones on August 22nd 1957, in Oklahoma City, OK. His father was Emeral Givens (Tom). Coon was raised by his stepfather, Siebert Jones, Sr. and his grandfather Jeffery Thompson (Tex). Bobby Ray was giving his nickname, “Coon” by his grandfather, Jeffrey Thompson, and the nickname stuck with him his entire life. Coon attended Chickasha Public schools and graduated from Chickasha High School in 1975. He had a very sharp mind and was an avid reader, historian, and Sports Fan. Coon could recall and respond to dates and events in great detail and answer the questions thoroughly and as quick as you could asked. Coon worked for the City of Chickasha, Chickasha Compress. He eventually retired after 31 years of employment at Chickasha Laundry and Cleaner. Bobby Ray Thompson united in matrimony with Linda Madison with whom he fathered two lovely daughters, April and Bobbie Raylynn. Coon loved cooking and talking noise to his family and friends. He always had something humorous to say. He spent his last days “sitting on the porch watching the cars go by. As he would say while taking his great nephew, Jayceon to school as well as visiting his friend, Morrell, “I am going to live the rest of my days in peace”. And he did just that. God called Coon Home in his sleep on January 14, 2025. He was proceeded by his mother, Wanda Jones; stepfather, Siebert Jones; father Emeral Givens; grandparents, Jeffrey and Willie Thompson; sister, Tammy Thompson; brother, Robert Taylor; uncles: Bobby Thompson, Hugh Dean Givens, and Burley Givens. Survivors left to cherish the memories of Coon are his daughters, April Madison of Chickasha, OK and Bobbie Raylynn Madison (Marcus) of OKC; stepdaughter, Lutina Madison of Norman, OK; stepson, Gregory Madison of Sacramento, CA. Siblings: James Thompson, Siebert Jones, Jr.; Dana (Kirk) Irby; Alisha Givens. Six grandchildren: Dalvon, Darrien, Qi’Onna, Tyure, Shakayla, Sha’Re’Nique. Four great-grandchildren: Emily, Brylan, Brylee, and King. Nephew: Jeffrey, Jayceon and Khylil, Sayvaughn, Niece, Will’Eisha; Stepmother, Janice Givens. A host of other family members and friends.
