Elizabeth Copeland

On June 9th in year of 1968 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus, Oklahoma a beautiful baby girl was born to Mr. Lloyd and Florence Mae Copeland. She was the 7th child born to the blessed Copeland family. Elizabeth attended Altus public schools where she graduated from Altus High School with her diploma. Liz was active while in Altus schools where she was cheerleader at Sunset Elementary, participated in Softball, basketball and track while in junior high and high school. Liz enjoyed traveling, shopping where she dressed to her character and dancing where she was the life of the party. Liz loved meeting people and having fun with them. She loved her children and siblings the most. Liz enjoyed being around her friends and participating in various activities of fun. She made things happen when it came to taking care of her children. She had a loving and kind heart for anyone that came in her path. She was always noticing people in need and trying to help them. Elizabeth worked for Mitch- Co at Fort Sill Army Base Fort Sill, Oklahoma for 17 years as a Food Services Worker, promoted to First Cook, then Assistant Manager where she enjoyed making people happy and comfortable. Elizabeth loved her crew she worked with and chose to continue working there. Elizabeth participated in activities in the community where she loved giving a helping hand with Good #2 Geaux Catering and Café and helped coach her oldest son (Victor and nephew James (Nuk) basketball team. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents Florence Mae and Lloyd Copeland, Mr. & Mrs. William and Trudy Copeland, (Fraternal Grandparents), Mr. & Mrs Dan & Gladys Pride (paternal Grandparents), Catherin Jackson (aunt), Beatrice Ensley (aunt). She leaves to mourn her Children; Victor Jr., Floreshia and Christopher Copeland Lawton, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren; Ma’lique Copeland, Erion Wilkins, Yasmin Copeland, Jamana Copeland, Amaya Copeland, Christiana Copeland). Her siblings; Mattie Crowder (David C. Crowder, Redoak, Texas), Lloyd Copeland and Floyd ( Rita) Copeland ( Altus, Oklahoma), Cecil ( Jackie) Turner ( Pasadena, California), Hazel Scott ( James) Box Springs , Texas), Vickie Turner Outlaw ( Killeen, Texas ), Cynthia Gibson ( Lubbock , Texas) , Aunts: JoAann Pride, Bernice Brown, Gail Pride all of Altus , Oklahoma . Close Friends: Jennifer Robinson Lane, Monique Mayberry, Janet Watson, Deloris Crowder, Renee Richardson, Cynthia Williams, Contessa and Vanessa Short all of Lawton, Oklahoma, Cinia Cooper, Lanette Jackson, Katonya Shivers all of Dallas, Texas, Angie Martin Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Deanna Gibson ( Atlanta, Georgia), Special Boss; Mr. Marco Lindsey and host of relatives, nephews, nieces , co- workers, and friends.
