Marion Charles Lennox Jr

Marion Charles Lennox, Jr. was born on June 25th, 1933, in Langston Oklahoma to the late Marion Charles Lennox, Sr. and Mildred Bowen. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and attended Salters Chapel AME Church in Langston, Oklahoma. He received his primary education through the Langston City School District. He attended Langston University and received a Business Administration Degree. He was drafted into the Army on August 25th, 1954 and left on August 24th 1956. He was driver and Anti-Aircraft Artillery personnel and went to Artillery Communications School. Once he left the Army, he worked for the Youth Authority and other facilities because he loved to help people. He then started working for Ft. Sill and retired from there in l 995. He was previously married to Joylyn Burdine and in that union, they created Raquel Lennox. He then married Norma Lennox on April 23rd, 1982 and they became a blended family with Donald Williams, Kathy Williams, and Marilyn Calvin. He joined Word of Life Church of God in Christ under the late Pastor N.H. James, Jr. and served as a deacon under the leadership of his present pastor Dr. Jerry Graham. He had many past times: Because of his diagnosis with prostate cancer, he became a fierce advocate and spoke to many people about it, an avid Sooners Football Fan, part of the Delta Community Action, he was a dedicated Democrat, a voting delegate at multiple State Conventions who always exercised his right and power of his vote, part of the Texoma Mass Choir, he drove cancer patients to their appointments when he had time, and most of all spending time with family and friends. He did not miss a family reunion and never met a stranger. He would talk to anybody and everybody! He was liked and loved by many. He also loved to sell/give away pecans. THIS MAN LOVED HIS FAMILY! Marion departed this life on Tuesday, January 24th, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings: Gladys Gilmore, Carlene Ford, Melvin Lennox, Delbert Lennox, Alvin Madden Jr., Orville Reaves, TJ Starr and Tommy Reaves. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Norma, their children Raquel Lennox, Donald (Connie) Williams, Kathy Williams, Marilyn (Charles) Calvin, his sister Cheri (Billy) Nelson of Sacramento CA, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
