Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Trudi Faye Williams Trudi Faye Williams entered the world in Chickasha, Oklahoma, as the lively third child of Willie Earl and Doretha Williams. From the very beginning, Trudi possessed a vibrant spirit, a generous heart, and a natural gift for bringing people together. To know Trudi was to know good food, great laughter, and an open door where no one ever left hungry or feeling like a stranger. A woman of passion, creativity, and determination, Trudi turned her natural talent for hospitality into a lifelong profession. In the 1980s, she earned her Associate in Applied Science in Dietary Management and Food Service Supervision from El Reno Junior College. She proudly carried those skills throughout her career, serving as a dedicated Dietary Manager for Best Western and various institutions over the years. Yet, while she managed professional kitchens with precision, everyone knew her favorite place to cook was wherever she could prepare a meal for the people she loved. Trudi did not simply host gatherings—she created experiences. Whether she was stepping in to plan someone’s wedding, carefully choosing the décor, perfecting the menu, and making sure the couple felt celebrated, or throwing an unforgettable neighborhood block party that stretched well into the early morning hours, Trudi was always the heartbeat of the celebration. Her life was rooted in family, connection, and an undeniable authenticity that earned her many affectionate names throughout the neighborhood. Whether you knew her simply as Aunt Trudi or by her well-earned street title, “Tru To The Game,” you always knew exactly where she stood, what she thought, and how deeply she cared. Welcoming Trudi home on the other side are her beloved grandparents and parents, Willie Earl and Doretha; her siblings, James E., Welthon J., and Mary E. Williams; her cherished second-born daughter, Tish W.; her great-nephew, Dwight S. and niece, La Shawnda (J) W. ; and a host of beloved aunts, uncles, and loved ones who preceded her in death. Trudi’s vibrant love, wisdom, laughter, and unforgettable recipes will live on through those she cherished most: husband, her eldest daughter, Roberta W. of Texas; and her sons, Eric P. and Trent P. of Oklahoma. Sister in love Toni W (Vancouver Washington) She leaves a rich legacy through her grandchildren, who brought endless joy to her life: Sedrick, Herbert, Ciera, Tyrique, James, Jaylon, Jamarion, Jacori, and Jamela; her six great-grandchildren; her dearly loved nieces and nephews, Aaron, Kendra, Cassandra, Kasha, Brandi, DaRay, James Jr., Brad, Doretha and Kaal; along with a vast and loving circle of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, extended family, and lifelong friends. Trudi lived life with flavor, laughter, love, and an unwavering devotion to her family. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but the memories she created, the laughter she shared, and the traditions she passed down will continue to nourish the hearts of those who loved her for generations to come. Her table may be empty, but her love will always have a seat at ours. She personally wants you to know she did it her way!
